Rayon is a popular housedress fabric thanks to its soft, cool texture. To keep it looking good and prevent the color from fading quickly, follow these tips.

Hand wash or use a gentle cycle. Avoid a high-speed washing machine spin, which can damage the fabric fibers.

Use cold water. Hot water makes rayon’s color fade faster.

Don’t wring it too hard. Gently press out the water, then dry it in the shade.

Iron on low heat. Rayon is fairly sensitive to high heat, so use a low setting when ironing.
